Crepes with Cinnamon Pear Sauce

Maybe I've mentioned this before, but my husband doesn't really care for pancakes (I KNOW!) If I want to make him a treat for breakfast, his favorite is crepes.

I like to play around with different fillings and sauces just to keep things interesting. I had a few ripe pears on the counter, so that was my inspiration for the sauce.

My go-to recipe for the crepes is Emmy's recipe - it makes only 8 crepes, so it's perfect for our family.

Cinnamon Pear Sauce

  • 2 ripe pears, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg and stir to combine. Add the pears to the pan and stir to coat evenly. Simmer over medium-low heat for 5-10 minutes, until the pears have softened slightly, but still retain their shape.

This sauce would also be great over ice cream!
